Samvedna Senior Care Foundation organized an online Dementia Support Group Meeting on 2nd May, 2020. The agenda of the meeting was ‘Caregiving during COVID 19’.  It was heartening to see participants logging in from different parts of the country.  The objective of the meeting was to understand how caregivers were managing their loved ones and coping with caregiver stress during the lockdown and also share experiences and suggest tips and solutions for better care management during this tough time. As part of our ongoing efforts to raise community awareness about dementia, Samvedna Senior Care Foundation delivered a Dementia Awareness Talk at the Senior Citizens Society in Freedom Fighters Enclave, Neb Sarai in New Delhi on 29th February 2020. The talk was presented by Hena Faqurudheen with the support of Ravina Tandon and Saad Rahman, all of whom are geriatric counsellors involved in dementia care and geriatric mental health. Awareness talk and Memory Screening camp at Rotary Club Chandigarh, Midtown

Samvedna Senior Care Foundation was invited to conduct a memory screening camp and awareness talk at the Rotary Club Chandigarh, Midtown on 28th February, 2020. Our Co-Founder and Project Director, Dr. Jayashree Dasgupta was invited as the chief guest for the evening, she delivered a talk on “Recognizing early signs of Dementia”. Many seniors participated actively in the screening camp and were appreciative of the feedback provided by the counsellors. Workshop on – Handling Geriatric Emergencies by Dr. Kislaya Mishra, MD

Samvedna Senior Care Foundation organized a workshop on Handling Geriatric Emergencies on 14th February, 2020 for its members and staff. Dr. Kislaya Mishra, Consultant–Physician/ Psychiatrist, Samvedna Senior Care, talked about how an elderly can comprehend and respond to an emergency situation by the time a first-responder, paramedic help reaches their doorstep. Dr. Kislaya explained the warning signs and necessary steps to be taken for various situations. She explained the symptoms for major emergencies related to heart attacks, falls, stroke, diabetic coma and critical situations like delirium, urinary tract infections, bladder control, malnutrition and sleep disorders. Samvedna Senior Care conducted its Dementia Support Group (DSG) for caregivers of Dementia patient on 4th May, 2019. A group of caregivers from Gurgaon and Delhi attended the meeting. The agenda of the meeting was to share knowledge about Dementia and to understand the challenges faced by families. The session was opened by Dr. Jayashree Dasgupta.
