Social stigma and lack of adequate infrastructure and support systems in India force senior citizens to live in their homes despite failing health and social withdrawal. Samvedna Senior Care Foundation has aimed to bridge this gap through setting up of senior centres. Our flagship senior centre was setup in October 2013 by our founders at their personal premises in Gurgaon.
Research suggests that in later life, psycho-social factors play a more significant role in wellbeing than physical ones. Our workshops and programmes are designed for seniors that give them a chance to enrich themselves, learn something new and be socially engaging at the same time.
One of our focus areas is social and emotional wellbeing. To promote this we conduct workshops on subjects like graceful ageing, retirement planning, family relations, conflict management, intergenerational bonding, banking fraud, will planning, elder abuse, stress management, caregiving and positive thinking.
Our programmes also involve yoga, senior fitness, music and dance therapy, art therapy, book review, poetry recitations, gardening, environment protection and community upliftment.
We organize field trips for senior citizens for nature walks, plantation drives, intergenerational bonding, helping under privileged children and volunteering in the community.
We conduct these programs in association with RWAs, SCAs, government departments and other NGOs. These workshops have an open participation format and are held across locations in Delhi NCR, including Samvedna’s Senior Centre in Gurgaon.
If you would like to us to conduct a workshop in your SCA (Senior Citizen Association) or RWA (Residents Welfare Association) you can write to us at email@example.com.

I like to come to Samvedna because the staff is warm and they take care of us wonderfully. Dance Movement Therapy organised at Samvedna centre was good & entertaining in addition to encouraging group activity, coordination & balance. Theatre workshop organised by Samvedna engaged us in wonderful group activities & exposed us to acting in front of camera. Informative talks at regular intervals by distinguished doctors on general as well as age related medical issues like eye care, deafness, constipation, heart, joint pains were very useful to seniors. Thank you Samvedna for making life beautiful.

As a member of the Samvedna I enjoyed variety of activities enriching myself with different kinds of exposures. I made lifelong friends while playing scrabble, cards, carom, tambola, antakshari, quiz competitions, etc. over steaming hot coffee & snacks served with a big smile daily. Outdoor picnic, visit to forest department, museum, etc. were also arranged. Due to such exposure, seniors picked up enough confidence to form their own groups and plan outings etc. Some of us got an opportunity to represent Samvedna Senior Care Foundation on Rajya Sabha TV & participate in the discussions on issues of national importance. I thank Samvedna for the good times.
